Abstract:

Mixed Reality (MR) is one of the immersive technologies that integrated other technologies. One of the applications of this research is integration with IoT. Usually, controlling an IoT device using an application or web that runs on a smartphone or laptop, is likely replaced with mixed reality that runs on Magic Leap. Mixed reality applications allow users to use mixed reality applications on Magic Leap immersively. In this research, we will develop a mixed reality application integrated with IoT smart devices is created that contains 3D environments and 3D assets and runs on Magic Leap. Users interact using Magic Leap’s Controller and hand tracking. User commands to control smart devices are forwarded to Tuya server through the web service API. Tuya server aims to access controlled Smart devices that are added with a Tuya account registered in Tuya’s cloud service. The results of this study were tested based on data transmission speed, load testing, and user testing. the results of testing the speed of sending commands with the same bandwidth speed get an average response time of 0.9 seconds. From the load delivery test, it was found that the minimum number of users to send simultaneous commands was 5 users with a minimum bandwidth of 8 Mbps. The results of user testing expressed respondents’ satisfaction with the performance of the mixed reality application system.
