Abstract:

Photovoltaic installation is consistently increasing around the world due to the leading access to the electrical grid. An enormous amount of work is put into process to operate Photovoltaic (PV) at its best. Power electronic interfaces are used to link the distributed sources to the load. However, the power quality is deteriorating due to the intermittent nature of PV. Hence, this paper aims to attain stable DC-link voltage of Interleaved Cuk Converter (ICC) with optimal control strategy. Interleaved Cuk converter is employed in this proposed approach which produces improved voltage gain due to the output voltage and current having less of a ripple content and the source current ripple being eliminated. To maintain the converter's output voltage, two optimal tuning techniques such as whale optimization and cuckoo search algorithm are used to tune the parameters of PI controller which assist to gain maintained DC-link voltage without any distortions and ripples from the converter. Using simulation data from the MATLAB, the performance of this system is validated.
