Abstract:
A wideband monocone antenna is designed for monolithic fabrication in additive manufacturing with an elliptical radome. To enhance gain pattern stability, the ground plane is modified with a conical skirt shape. The final design demonstrates a bandwidth of 7–40 GHz with a -3 dBi field of view from 62° to 102°. Two types of manufacturing resins are used in the development of this antenna and their impact on impedance and radiation characteristics examined.
