Abstract:
The protocol-less bridge technique for interconnecting LANs is designed to provide all of the desirable bridge functions, including traffic load sharing, without the restrictions of bridge protocols and source routeing. In this respect, the scheme does not require any formal communication between bridges, nor does it demand modifications to existing LAN standards. Local traffic filtering, multiple route elimination, frame loss and hardware implementation are discussed.<>
