Abstract:

In order to reduce the sensitivity of turbine flow sensor to the impeller inlet velocity profile, and to improve the performance of the sensor, the impact mechanism of velocity distribution on sensor's performance was analyzed, and optimization scheme that changing the radius at the top of sensor impeller blade was put forward in this paper, based on the velocity profile at the maximum flow rate and the minimum flow rate. Taking turbine flow sensor with diameter 50 mm as an example, optimization program was designed to minimize the difference between meter factors at the maximum flow rate and minimum flow rate. The result indicated that the sensor was the least velocity profile sensitive and the linearity error was minimal not sensitive to the change, when rt=24.3mm, with other parameter unaltered. CFD simulation and real flow experiments were carried out to verify the feasibility of the optimization program and the accuracy of results.
