Abstract:
Queueing model behavior affects 5G mobile cognitive radio networks performance, in term of devices lifetime and energy conservation. Maximization of the lifetime and reduction of energy consumption by devices are directly affected by the overall delay, including the queuing delay. In this work, we study two types of queues used in 5G networks: First-in-First-out (FIFO) and Modified Deficit Round-Robin (MDRR). Simulation results demonstrate that MDRR has better performance over FIFO in most metrics, such as end-to-end delay, average ethernet delay (sec), receiver utilization and receiver throughput.
