Abstract:
We present a method of satisfying the receiver sensitivity specification in the design of a mobile station receiver. We obtain the system noise figure to satisfy the sensitivity. On the basis of this result, we present the relationship between the noise figure and noise power spectral density per bit, and between the noise power spectral density and frame error rate. As a result of this simulation, the maximum noise figure of the receiver satisfying sensitivity is 11 dB which is sufficient by about 3 dB. Moreover, we evaluate the receiver performance of the PCS mobile station. From this result, a PCS receiver is designed with a smaller noise figure than the CDMA receiver.
