Abstract:
This paper deals with a study of a special coexistence scenario that can occur between Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) and Digital Video Broadcasting-Satellite (DVB-S/S2) systems in a common radio frequency (RF) band. In this situation, the DAB is an interferer system, whereas the DVB-S/S2 is a victim system. An experimental workspace was realized to emulate and explore such a scenario. To evaluate a performance of the affected DVB-S/S2 signal, a bit and modulation error ratios (BER and MER) are used, respectively. Results of measurements, dependencies of these error values on a frequency shift between central carriers of both systems, and on a signal level difference of both RF signals are presented. Finally, results are analyzed and discussed in details.
