Abstract:

This article aims for meeting with influences of the atmosphere on real professional Free-Space Optical (FSO) link. Atmospheric effects could cause a degradation of quality of FSO communication and of received optical beam in shape of decreasing of optical power value through parameter RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator). Finally, this could even lead to communication loss. The article focuses on the evaluation of measured data by meteorological station such as a relative humidity, wind speed, temperature, air pressure and solar radiation. These randomly changed parameters of the atmosphere cause atmospheric turbulences, absorbing and scattering centres. To solving of influence of the atmosphere on FSO link it is needed to set a value of refractive index structure parameter which is dealing by a part of this article. In this part, the composite author aims for a theoretical calculation of the refractive index structure parameter by the help of models (PAMELA and Macroscale-Meteorological model and its extended version).
