Abstract:

In DCF when a station succeeds to transmit a packet, it resets its CW to its minimum value. A successful transmission does not mean a congestion level decrease, but a CW value convenient. It can cause to make other collisions. So, the CW value should be kept the same as long as the congestion level remains the same. Slow CW decrease (SD) scheme provides the method which keeps the congestion level. In this paper, we propose Enhanced SD scheme using idle and collision time ratio (ICR). It uses idle and collision time ratio as decision factor of stage movement.
