Abstract:

To the band spaced constant modulus algorithm (CMA) or signed error CMA(SECMA), the mean square error (MSE) has a closed relation with the initialization method when the equalizer length is finite. In blind equalization, center spike initialization (CSI) method is now being widely used due to its simpleness and ins convergence to global minimum. However, this initialization method often converges to local minimum. A king of moving equalizer taps (MET) method is proposed in this paper, which seeks to find more optimum single spike initialization (SSI) method. In this method, the CSI method is firstly used, and during the convergence process, the taps of the equalizer moves left of right with the energy of the taps. The MET method can achieve less MSE than the CSI method. The computer simulation proves the efficiency of the MET method
