Abstract:

In this paper, the structural transition and magnetic anomaly in (Nd/sub 1-x/Er/sub x/)/sub 3/Fe/sub 18/Co/sub 6/Cr/sub 5/ compounds are studied. A novel structure has been observed in this compound with Er content x/spl ges/0.8 and it is further indexed to hexagonal symmetry by refinement. In addition, X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements show that a structural transition occurs when x exceeded 0.8. With the substitution of Er for Nd in (Nd/sub 1-x/Er/sub x/)/sub 3/Fe/sub 18/Co/sub 6/Cr/sub 5/ compounds, the Curie temperature also show an anomaly for x/spl ges/0.8.
