Abstract:

Micro-Doppler and range-Doppler provide useful information related to the movement of a human subject. This work demonstrates the feasibility of remotely identifying a potential active shooter with concealed weapon based on micro-Doppler and range-Doppler signatures. By studying and comparing micro-Doppler and range-Doppler information of human subjects carrying a concealed rifle versus other similar activities, special features of carrying a concealed rifle are identified, which can be applied to the detection of people with suspicious behaviors.
