A practical abstraction of ERP to cloud integration complexity: The easy way

ERP to cloud integration is a widely debated topic, especially in the - so popular nowadays - cloud and mobility context. This article introduces a cloud based field service management solution that integrates with ERP back offices. To increase commercial adoption and obtain ERP vendor independence, a generic integration application is proposed, that abstracts communication complexity, decreases prototyping time and requires little internal knowledge to develop against. The developing methods include continuous productive feedback and validation, rounding up the implementation to a fairly complete solution. The paper mentions all its important components, detailing some of the most significant services. The results of the implementation are compared with existing, ERP-specific integration projects of the presented solution, outlining performance, code metrics, usability and adoption and concluding with a few aspects about the overall achievements.
