Low-loss splice of large effective area fiber using fluorine-doped cladding standard effective area fiber

Ultra-low dissimilar splice loss of 0.08dB between Aeff-enlarged fiber (148μm

) and standard Aeff fiber (83μm

) was realized, by applying a ring core profile to Aeff-enlarged fiber and fluorine doped cladding to standard Aeff fiber.
