Fiber-optic communication using fast Nonlinear Fourier transforms

Nonlinear Fourier transforms (NFTs) are beginning to draw attention in fiber-optic communications. This has recently led to the development of the first fast NFT algorithms. In this paper, these developments are reviewed.
