10 EMOTIONS: COULD ROBOTS HAVE FEELINGS?

In the summer of 2018, the European Space Agency sent an unusual little robot called CIMON up to the International Space Station for testing. CIMON is spherical and floats in zero gravity with fans to move it around, as well as having cameras and microphones so that it can carry out voice interaction with astronauts.1 Its full name is a mouthful: CIMON stands for "Crew Interactive Mobile companiON." It has a screen on one side that displays a cartoonlike graphical face, making it an embodied form of an assistant like Alexa or Siri.
