Performance Analysis of MIMO‐Based CR‐NOMA Communication Systems

The rapid proliferation of communication devices due to explosive growth in the applications of Internet‐of‐Things demands high speed, low latency, and more reliability that led to a problem of spectrum scarcity over the radio frequency regime which is a limited resource on the electromagnetic spectrum from 3 kHz to 300 GHz for the next‐generation communication systems. Therefore, significantly more spectral efficient designs are desired for the next generation communication systems and prominent techniques available in the literature are cognitive radio (CR), non‐orthogonal multiple access (NOMA), and multiple‐input‐multiple‐output (MIMO). This chapter presents the proposed system model for the MIMO‐based CR‐NOMA framework. It also presents the analysis of the proposed system model with mathematical derivations. The chapter describes the simulation results and discussion. The simulation results are witness of the improved transmission performance of the NOMA‐based CR.
