Business Models

This chapter focuses on cellular vehicle‐to‐everything (C‐V2X). It elaborates on the current V2X market situation and highlights what market players have tested or implemented so far. The chapter considers a high‐level description of a number of services that can be used when examining business models. Holistically, it is widely envisioned that 5G will act as a technical enabler for the creation of innovative business models on top of new services or existing services. The chapter provides a brief look at primary practical aspects that will affect the definition of the business model for the automotive sector. It contains description of business market opportunities for V2X. A business model analysis of 5G V2X technical components is presented.
