Conclusions and Future Directions of Research on BCI‐Based Memory and Learning

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the keyconcepts discussed in this book. The book overviews the principles and techniques used for memory modeling and points out the possible limitations of the proposed theoretical models and experimental protocols. It provides possible directions of future research in memory and learning, particularly by possible amalgamation of multiple modalities of brain imaging/signal acquisition techniques. The book discusses possible exploration of genetics to identify the genes responsible for memory disorders and replaces those disease‐carrying genes by suitable ones using genetic engineering. Experiment design protocols for memory modeling usually is more stringent than the same for general brain–computer interfacing experiments. Drug‐based analysis of memory and learning may initiate a new opening of future research. It is well‐known that synthesis/presence of certain neuro‐transmitters, such as dopamine, improves our learning ability.
