Chaotic PWM Suppressing EMI of Power Electronic Converters

Compared with other modulation technologies, chaotic PWM (pulse width modulation) can efficiently reduce the EMI (electromagnetic interference) of power electronic converters. However, it is difficult to apply to practical engineering design directly. In this chapter, we develop a chaotic PWM generator in which the signal from a chaos modulation circuit is directly sent to the clock port of PWM controlled ICs of converters without changing the basic parameters and control circuit of the primary power electronic converters. This work progresses the engineering application of chaotic PWM.
