Dynamic Chaos Spectrum of Chaotic Switching Converters I: Wavelet Method

There are inherent contradictions between time and frequency resolution in the Fourier transform. These drawbacks limit the application of Fourier transform in analyzing short sampled data sequences. For the dynamic chaos spectrum analysis of switching converters, this chapter gives time–frequency–energy distributions and Wavelet transforms of chaotic PWM (pulse width modulation) schemes, showing that energy distribution characteristics were depicted not only from a time view but also from a frequency view.
