Computational Red Teaming Application for Skill‐based Performance Assessment

This chapter presents a computational red teaming (CRT) application that focuses on skill representation, where skill representation is part of the skill assessment stage in the CRT process. Skill representation is demonstrated using a Sudoku puzzle. The chapter shows how the skill‐based solver achieves proficiency in Sudoku, depending on the amount of skills acquired through the neural networks. The application presented in the chapter serves as the foundation for developing more complex skill and skill‐acquisition models usable in general simulation frameworks related to the skill assessment aspect of CRT. The chapter builds on the cognitive domain of the CRT by presenting a methodology for the skill modelling and assessment (SMA) component. The proposed cognitive task analysis‐based methodology is instantiated and demonstrated in a practical context using the Sudoku puzzle. The Sudoku puzzle is used as a vehicle for testing the methodology and demonstrating the computability of the SMA component of CRT.
