INCLUDING A PEC GROUND PLANE

This chapter develops a numerical scheme that is capable of calculating the response of a narrow strip antenna over a perfect electric conductor (PEC)ground. It analyzes the response of a narrow PEC strip antenna that is located above a perfect ground plane. The problem is tackled with the aid of the electromagnetic (EM) reciprocity theorem of the time‐convolution type. The testing EM state is chosen to be associated with the testing electric‐current surface density distributed along the strip in presence of the perfect ground. The chapter derives the reciprocity relation, where the authors used the explicit‐type boundary conditions applying over the ground plane. The transform‐domain reciprocity relation with the modified testing field is the point of departure for the Cagniard‐DeHoop Method of Moments (CdH‐MoM) solution. The spatial solution domain extends over the surface of the strip antenna. The chapter discusses illustrative numerical examples concerning both solutions based on the CdH‐MoM and transmission‐line theory.
