Graphical Specifications for Modeling Existences

This chapter specifies the diagrammatic rules that will be applied to graphically model informational existences and their relations in a knowledge ecosystem. It presents the examples of a graphical modeling system in complete opposition to both the principles and the graphs, in order to define the boundaries of a state‐of‐the‐art system without having to overmultiply the examples. The chapter begins with a presentation of Unified Modeling Language (UML) that offers generic graphical rules for the modeling of projects. It discusses new ways of representing musical partitions to show how they offer interesting perspectives for design. The chapter emphasizes the important graphic principles, firstly as they pertain to dynamism and interactivity, as well as the relations between inside and outside relationships. It proposes analyzing the principles of cartographic interfaces according to three complementary aspects: space, time and concepts.
