Web Platform Specifications for Knowledge Ecosystems

This chapter introduces the technical principles for a generic resource management model, the details of implementation choices, and the technical specifications of Web platform for data sources, server applications and client applications. It details the categories of experiences that are not digitizable, such as taste, "craft" and living things, and then presents the methods to make this knowledge accessible. The chapter discusses the "controllers" layer by presenting the principles used to control the ecosystem at the level of the algorithmic manipulation of flows and their editorial management. It also presents the "views" layer by detailing the technologies which it uses to develop interfaces that will allow users to garden ecosystems. The chapter describes the technical aspects of the cartographic interfaces by first presenting the principles of graphic design that it used to develop the Knowledge Garden (KG) platform. In a second step, it details the principles for the interactions between the views and the controllers.
