Ecosystem Modeling: A Generic Method of Analysis

This chapter presents complete ecosystem through the different stages of a collective intelligence platform project for the generic analysis of knowledge. Hypertextual gardening has proved to be a very challenging concept to meet information modeling needs as well as a design model for human‐machine interfaces (HMIs) required for information retrieval, collation and evaluation. Since the semantic garden project did not find partners that were important enough to support its development in the context of a start‐up or a company, the authors continued to develop it as part of a university research program to refine theoretical bases and ergonomic perspectives. This work took the form of an information and communication sciences (ICS) thesis and several scientific articles wherein the authors revealed the fundamental principles for the modeling of an informational existence in a knowledge ecosystem.
