System Process Control

This chapter explores precompensator control, postcompensator control, the observability problem, static feedback and dynamic feedback. If the state feedback introduces a pole zero compensation of the closed‐loop (CL) transfer function, it is shown that the state feedback does not affect the controllability, but in this case it affects the observability. There is loss of observability using pole zero simplification in the transfer function. When the system is observable and controllable, the principle of separation makes it possible to ensure the stabilization of the system by arbitrarily placing the poles of the observer and the regulator in a separate manner. Regarding the system control, it can be observed that the dynamics of the system state does not depend on the gain of the observer; the placement of the poles of the regulator is not influenced by the choice of observer.
