Human‐in‐the‐Loop Constraints

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on concepts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. The book begins by devising how sensing, state inference, and actuation can be combined together in human‐in‐the‐loop cyber‐physical systems (HiTLCPSs). Humans can play various roles within HiTLCPSs, ranging from actuators co‐helped by robotic elements and acting on collected by the sensor networks to intermediate nodes in multi‐hop communication processes. They can also become an element of environmental monitoring. The book also summarizes all of the technical limitations and challenges of this technology in to a single model. This model presents the various processes associated with HiTL control. Reliable networking is crucial for HiTLCPS, since these systems are often distributed and need to share information between many devices. There is, however, another important factor that needs to be taken into consideration: the introduction of radically new technologies is usually accompanied by a considerable dose of skepticism.
