Cooperating Competitors: ADAPSO, 1961–1982

Despite Louis Galambos' insightful establishment of the dual themes of competition and cooperation in examining the emergence and growth of a national cotton textile industry organization a half century ago, trade associations, in general, remain significantly understudied organizations. Sometimes this is an oversight on the part of business, institutional, and economic historians. Other times, the lack of available published and archival sources present insurmountable hurdles.
