Data Security and Privacy in Cyber‐Physical Systems for Healthcare

Recent technological and scientific innovations have brought changes into health domain and enabled a remote healthcare at patients' homes. The next‐generation Internet depicts a world populated by devices able to sense, process, and react via the Internet autonomously. These sensing devices, combined with embedded computing, corresponding communication infrastructures, and physical processes form cyber‐physical systems (CPS) to achieve better functionality, and effectiveness, while enhancing the quality of patients' life, and potentially decrease the overall cost.However, these devices come with limitations that might pose challenges when ensuring requirements such as security, privacy, and minimum delay in data transmission. So far, a significant amount of time has been invested to address these issues, in order to gain better knowledge on these and other related issues of existing healthcare systems. In this chapter, we take a step further and survey the provided results related to data security and privacy in CPS for healthcare.
