Side‐Channel Analysis and Fault Analysis on Block Ciphers

This chapter covers two types of physical attacks that can recover the secret key of block ciphers. The first type uses side‐channel analysis that performs key recovery by collecting and analyzing the physical information leakage. The second type of the physical attack is based on fault analysis that disturbs the device in operation in order to trigger the unexpected faulty operation.
