Co‐located MIMO OFDM

This chapter focuses on the co‐located multi‐input multi‐output (MIMO) systems‐orthogonal frequency‐division multiplexing (OFDM) receiver design in both time‐invariant and time‐varying channels. With co‐located transmitters, various space time coding approaches could be adopted to either improve the system performance or increase the bandwidth efficiency. The chapter presents a noniterative and an iterative ICI‐ignorant MIMO‐OFDM receiver. By ignoring the ICI, data detection is carried on each OFDM subcarrier individually. The chapter describes an ICI‐progressive MIMO‐OFDM receiver, which is a counterpart of the progressive receiver. It discusses an initialization method to the ICI‐progressive MIMO‐OFDM receiver. The chapter also talks about ICI‐aware MIMO‐OFDM system model, and presents the SPACE08 and MACE10 experimental results.
