Trials and Evaluation for Acceptance

If one wants to reach the mass markets with the technologies and applications, one needs a good understanding about the needs and requirements coming from the users and other stakeholders, but also continuous evaluation and validation of the intermediate and final results.The key areas of the evaluation are two‐fold:• The evaluation and validation from the user point of view, using the approach and methodologies typical of a User‐Centred Design process.• The technical evaluation, looking at the key technological aspects, highlighting the major innovative aspects of the technical results and analysing them against the requirements and specifications set at the beginning.This chapter presents guidelines and learnings from a real‐life case study.
