Discovery and Selection

Finding aids of many kinds exist to help the discovery, location, and selection of records and documents. A printed bibliography is a static structured interface for finding records describing documents. Here we examine more dynamic forms of selection aids: search engines; filtering systems; and retrieval systems, such as full-text search, library catalogs, web search, and enterprise search, for search within the resources of large organizations.
