2 Media, Art, Climate, Publics

To approach a problem as urgent as climate change, and to understand the past, present, and potential future place of digital media and art in relation to it, we need a methodology that can accommodate the trajectories of each of these themes and also bring them together. In this chapter, we propose an approach to the world that situates art, media, and climate change—and ourselves as humans—as part of the environments that we inhabit. This approach views what is happening around us from the inside and explores the relationships between the things and processes that constitute the world.
