Confronting the Realities in Decision-Making

This chapter provides some observations, and perspectives on what it takes to convert macro decisions into useful results that not only meet the requirements, schedule, and estimated costs but also have a positive impact on business performance. It demonstrates how the lack of decision-making capability affects organizational performance. Participants need to understand what's required and it should not depend on one's level in the organization. The daily experiences with decision-makers and decision processes can supplement the body of research that continues to show a shortage of managers, engineers, and other discipline specialists who possess adequate decision-making capability.
