Application of Chaotic Modulation

This chapter discusses the application of chaotic modulation to pulse width modulation (PWM) inverter drive systems. It functions to reduce the corresponding audible noise and mechanical vibration. Various chaotic PWM schemes are first presented then applied to inverter drive systems. Both the open-loop control operation and the closed-loop vector control operation are investigated.
