In the present paper, the effects of Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) on Weighted Least Squares (WLS) State Estimation are investigated using a proposed approach whereas the network parameters are subjected to different amounts of uncertainty. The approach is implemented and tested on IEEE 14-Bus power network test case. The novelty of this investigation lies behind the consideration of network parameters uncertainty for a given measurement uncertainty. The approach enables us to observe how much the PMU data impact the state estimator's output by means of estimates errors distribution versus the network parameters uncertainty. It firstly shows that how the efficiency of WLS State Estimation varies according to both the uncertainty of network parameters and the uncertainty of measurements with the traditional measurements and then the changes in estimates are compared when PMU measurements are included.
