Multipath fading simulation for design verification in digital baseband domain

The coming 3/sup rd/ generation WCDMA systems are moving the focus of receiver and transmitter design towards powerful digital baseband signal processing. This change poses new requirements for multipath fading simulators used in R&D, validation and type approval tests. The key new requirements are the capability of simulating semi-real time signals and the introduction of a new physical interface layer-digital baseband. To facilitate these requirements full digital implementation of the multipath fading simulator is needed.
