Dynamical boundary control of two-dimensional wave equations: vibrating membrane on general domain

Dynamical boundary control of a vibrating membrane with edge mass and of general shape is mathematically formulated as an abstract evolutionary system. The approximate controllability and the strong stabilization by linear boundary damping feedback are established by an approach based on LaSalle's invariance principle. The mathematical model and the reduced system can be used to investigate some optimization problems.<
