Rain attenuation of millimeter waves at λ = 5.77, 3.3, and 2 mm

Measurements of rainfall attenuation of millimeter waves at
\lambda = 5.77
, 3.3, and 2 mm were conducted during the years 1969-1070. Simultaneously recorded meteorological quantities were the rainfall rate and a part of the drop-size spectrum. Attenuation coefficients as a function of rainfall rate were thus determined. These attenuation coefficients were related to parameters that, under certain assumptions, describe the drop-size distribution in rain.
