A Simpler Approach to "Analysis of Integrated Voice/Data Multiplexing"

This paper gives a conceptually and algorithmically much simpler method for the model of a moving-boundary, fixed frame length, integrated multiplexor of the above paper. The method uses a Markov chain to obtain

, which can then be used to solve for the same joint distributions of queue length and expected waiting time as in the paper. This method enables a practitioner to use available standard packages to obtain system performance measures.
