Existence criteria for dc solutions of nonlinear networks which involve the independent sources

New theorems are presented showing how the location and value of independent sources can be used in assessing the existence of a solution for the dc equations of a very general class of nonlinear networks. The application of the theory to bipolar transistor circuits is specifically considered, and an example is given using a simple differential amplifier circuit.
