Low loss polymeric spot-size converter with two-step index transition cladding for fiber-to-chip connection

We propose a low loss polymeric spot-size converter with two-step index transition cladding for fiber-to-chip connection. The device can simultaneously achieve a coupling loss of 1.84 dB and strictly single-mode operation at 1310 nm.
