Phased Array Microstrip Antenna for 5G Applications with Enhanced Bandwidth

In this paper, the design and bandwidth enhancement technique of a phased array microstrip antenna having eight ports is presented. This antenna is proposed to be working for millimeter wave 5G frequency. The designed antenna structure shows a minimum return loss of −39 dB at a frequency of 24.5 GHz. The antenna shows a −10 dB impedance bandwidth of 8.5 GHz (21.4 - 29.9 GHz). The antenna shows a maximum gain of 10.3 dB when the difference between phase excitations of ports is of 45 degrees. The software used for simulation is CST microwave studio and substrate material for fabrication is Rogers RT5880LZ with dielectric constant 1.96 and the structure
