Android-Based Online Inventory Information System Design for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)

The development of technology now has an important role in information management. Information processing related to large and fast inventory flows in a company certainly requires increasing accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness of information systems. The Contribution of MSMEs to the Indonesian Economy MSMEs absorb up to 89.2 percent of the total workforce; MSMEs provide up to 99 percent of total employment; MSMEs contribute 60.34 percent of the total national GDP; MSMEs accounted for 14.17 percent of total exports; MSMEs accounted for 58.18 percent of the total investment. MSMEs are still facing various obstacles. One of the obstacles faced by MSMEs in improving business capabilities such as the process of regulating and recording inventory data is still manual, lack of managerial ability of merchandise inventory, as well as weak organization and limited marketing, causing MSME actors to experience problems in their management. Facts in the field show one of the problems of MSMEs lack of managerial skills for merchandise inventory, manual stock management, inventory checking is still done physically/manually. There is a difference in warehouse stock and others. Based on the above phenomenon, an Android-based online inventory information system is needed that makes it easier for MSME actors in the administrative process including recording merchandise inventory, checking stock inventory, purchasing goods from suppliers, recording and calculating each transaction that occurs as well as selling goods to customers.
