(UPCON) A novel distributed T-equivalent circuit model of a microstrip interdigital capacitor

The theme of this paper is to present a distributed T-equivalent circuit model of a microstrip interdigital capacitor. The distributed model has been considered in order to characterize the interdigital capacitor more accurately over wideband of frequencies. Three interdigital capacitors with different number of fingers have been analyzed. From the analysis and observations made from analysis, a generalized distributed T -equivalent circuit model, similar to that of a distributed T -equivalent model for a conventional transmission line, has been presented. A comparison is made between the lumped and distributed equivalent circuit model to present the advantage of the distributed model. This new distributed model can be used in the analysis and design of wideband circuits that uses the interdigitalcapacitors.
