Advanced Communication Protocols: A Dual Approach with Advanced CoAP with DTLS

The IoT (Internet of Things) permits each real time thing to be effortlessly incorporated with conventional network. To exchange information with previous networks, the real time heterogeneous objects are improved with the ability to communicate, evaluating standards, abilities and these objects are vulnerable and resource constrained to several security protocols. Much existing research have been carried out to implement the secure protocol for safe data communication and transmission in the IoT environment. The proposed model introduces the segmented transmission CoAP (Constrained Application Protocol) with DTLS (Datagram Transport Layer Security) for safe and secure communication protocol to protect the sensitive and confidential data of the users. The proposed segmented transmission CoAP with DTLS transmit the response and request with two blocks. The client can transfer many blocks with request and server can transfer many blocks with response without any requirements. Due to this approach, the proposed segmented transmission CoAP with DTLS minimizes the risk of transmission failure segmenting messages because of the large payloads which surpass the boundaries of the network. The employment of DTLS provides a strong security layer during the process of communication which confirms the achievement of data confidentiality and integrity. Even in the unsafe networks, the proposed segmented transmission CoAP with DTLS strengthen the security characteristics of DTLS and improves the resource employment for secure transmission of confidential data. The performance of the proposed segmented transmission CoAP with DTLS model is evaluated by the performance metrics of throughput, energy consumption and latency time.
