Space Target Feature Extraction based on Linear Frequency Modulation-Vortex Electromagnetic Waves

Compared with planar electromagnetic waves, vortex electromagnetic waves carry orbital angular momentum, and thus can be applied in many fields such as imaging and detection. Due to the rich spatial information contained, the parameters of a moving target can be effectively extracted using vortex electromagnetic waves. The paper focuses on the estimation of target structural parameters in the linear frequency modulation -vortex electromagnetic wave (LFM-VEMW) regime. Firstly, a LFM beam is transmitted to form a vortex electromagnetic wave in the single-in-multi-out (SIMO) regime, the target echo model is derived, and the mathematical expression of the one-dimensional distance image of the target is given. Secondly, the method of extracting the non-cooperative target parameters from the one-dimensional distance image is discussed, and the kinematic parameters and geometric features of the target can be effectively estimated by the introduction of multiple viewpoints and the information in the distance image. The simulation results verify the effectiveness of the method.
